COSMOS- TORY TECH TAG

On Thursday, November 21st, Tory Technologies had our 5th Annual MaCRoM User Group Meeting. The event was filled with lots of interesting and insightful topics, from Alarm Management, new AI initiatives, and the future of MaCRoM®. After months of planning and preparation, we covered it all in a two-hour event. While the meeting will be uploaded on our video platform, ToryVideo, we want to give you the highlights here in this blog post. Keep reading to learn more about this year’s MaCRoM User Group Meeting!

We kicked off the event with an overview of the agenda from our host, Mariana Bengochea, Marketing Coordinator at Tory-Tech. Next, Rene Varon, our President and CEO, gave our welcome message. He spoke about the growth of our amazing company this year, the new companies we’ve welcomed as clients, the development and evolution of MaCRoM, and the vision drivers to continue the advancements of MaCRoM. After his compelling opening message, we were able to hear from our keynote speaker, Ali Gibson.

Ali Gibson is a results-oriented executive experienced in business, operations, process improvement, and the world of Control Room Management. She has more than 20 years of experience in control room processes. We were honored to have her present to share her valuable insights with us. She spoke about alarm management and delved into various topics, such as the challenges with alarm verification, alarm rationalization, and monthly alarm reviews. She was able to share some valuable information on how to apply the best practices to these challenges according to PHMSA regulations.

After this amazing keynote, we heard from our alarm management panel moderated by Neil Vasquez, our Global Sales Director at Tory-Tech. This hour-long panel featured a special group of panelists who have valuable experience in control room management. Our panelists included Conrad Fonseca, Operational Efficiency and Assets Manager, TAG – Transportadora Associada de Gas (Brazil), Warren Hardin, CRM Supervisor / Pipeline Scheduler, CITGO (Houston, TX), Travis Gidley, Project Advisor, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company (Houston, TX), and Eduardo Merçon, Operations Manager, NTS (Brazil). It was wonderful to be able to hear about the ways these companies handle things like Alarm Management Strategy, Master Alarm Database (MAD), and Alarm Philosophy and Rationalization.

After the panel, we were able to hear from Juan Serinyà, our CTO, who presented the MaCRoM Roadmap. In his presentation, Juan talked about a few of the enhancements made to MaCRoM this year, including updates to the General Form Component, the Push-To Component, Alarm Management, and more. Juan also showed off the beta version of our brand-new app, MaCRoM Mobile! To get on the list for beta testing and learn more about MaCRoM Mobile, contact us.

He also spoke about the transition from MEGA, our MaCRoM Expert Group of Advisors, to our newest development: the Roadmap Tracker function. This way all clients can vote on the new features they’d like to see in MaCRoM, as well as the timeline for some of the other functions in development.

To close out our User Group Meeting, we heard from our Tech and Operations team for MaCRoM. Juan Torres, Director of MaCRoM Operations, spoke about some of the improvements Operations has made to ensure our clients have smooth implementations, updates to the products, and sufficient support. Afterward, we heard from Angie Saenz, Customer Experience Lead, who talked about the improvements the MaCRoM customer experience team has made to enhance user-application relationships, as well as some KPIs to reflect the amazing work the service desk is doing to improve customer experience. Following Angie’s presentation, Camila Burgos, E-Learning Platform Specialist, officially introduced our new e-learning platform, Tory Academia. This platform offers both general and client-specific courses and during MaCRoM Week, we introduced free webinars to show its features. In 2025, we plan to offer this to all our clients to help them improve their knowledge through Academia.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in this year’s User Group Meeting. The turnout was incredible and because of that, we had many engaging and informative conversations. We also want to thank the amazing team at Tory-Tech who worked together for months to plan and execute this meeting. Your hard work is extremely appreciated and did not go unnoticed!

Now, you’re probably thinking “Wow! The 2024 User Group Meeting sounds super interesting, and I’d love to hear some of the conversations and presentations.” Well, don’t worry! We’ll be posting the full meeting on ToryVideo, so stay tuned.
